SuppoRTT: Follow-up form – Support after you return

Modified on Wed, 9 Sep at 3:41 PM

What this article is about
This article explains when to complete the SuppoRTT Follow-up form and how it helps review support after return.

Who this is for
Doctors and dentists in training who have returned after a period away from training.

What you need to know

  • The Follow-up form helps review whether the return to training plan is working.
  • It can identify ongoing support needs after return.
  • It may be used after OOP, parental leave, sickness absence, career break or other significant time away.
  • Follow-up may involve your educational supervisor, Training Programme Director, employer or other support routes.
  • You should raise concerns early if your return is not going as planned.
  • The form does not replace employer HR, occupational health, wellbeing or rota processes.

What to do

  1. Complete the Follow-up form at the point requested by the SuppoRTT process.
  2. Reflect on what support has worked well and what further support may be needed.
  3. Discuss any concerns with your educational supervisor or Training Programme Director.
  4. Contact your employer if the issue relates to rota, HR, occupational health, wellbeing or workplace support.
  5. Keep a record of any agreed follow-up actions.
  6. Raise a query if the agreed support has not been put in place.

If this does not work
If your return remains difficult or unsafe, seek advice promptly through your educational supervisor, Training Programme Director, employer or urgent support route as appropriate.

Who to contact
Use the PGMDE Support Portal for SuppoRTT follow-up queries. Contact your educational supervisor or Training Programme Director for training support. Contact your employer for workplace or occupational health support.
