Who this is for
Doctors in specialty training preparing an IDT application.
What you need to know
- IDT applications must meet the national eligibility criteria.
- You may need to provide evidence to support the reason for your transfer request.
- Only applications that meet the criteria and include the required supporting documents can be considered.
- Evidence requirements depend on the category or reason for the application.
- The evidence must support why a transfer is needed and why it is not reasonable or practical to remain in the current training region.
What to do
- Read the national IDT applicant guidance for the relevant application window.
- Check which evidence is required for your application category.
- Gather evidence before the application window opens.
- Make sure documents are clear, current and relevant to your application.
- Submit all required documents with your application.
- Keep copies of all documents submitted.
If this does not work
If evidence is missing, incomplete or does not meet the requirements, your application may be delayed or declined. You should respond promptly if further information is requested.
